Many of our classroom demonstrations such as the Groundwater Model Bucket Kit and Density Tank Lab Demonstration utilize colored tracers to help students see the flow of geophysical fluids. We noticed that it is getting more difficult to find plain food coloring in the store as bakers seem to be favoring gel colorings. This pack of plain food coloring concentrate includes the classic red and blue colors for great contrast and to make your demonstrations pop.
Each bottle has a dropper top to help meter how much dye is used. The bottles hold 10 mL of each color which is enough for a lot of lab activities! Each package is heat sealed after being individually filled from bulk stock.

Density Tank Lab Demonstration

Our desktop sized density tank lets you separate two fluids of differing density and then lift the gate to show students how they will mix and differentiate. We find that room temperature water and ice water with some salt mixed in gives the best results! We do not recommend hot water as it may over-expand the acrylic causing leaks or tank damage. Use the included turbidity ramp for another unforgettable demonstration of a density flow using the same apparatus! The tank is approximately 19 inches long, 4 inches wide, and 5.75 inches tall.
