Many field and monitoring applications require equipment to be mounted horizontally rather than vertically—such as time-lapse cameras, sensor enclosures, or other instruments that must remain level or oriented parallel to the ground. The Instrument Mast Right-Angle Mounting Bracket provides a mechanically straightforward solution using common mast and pole hardware.
The bracket features a permanently welded 1.25-inch outer diameter steel mast with a 10-inch horizontal extension. This mast size matches standard antenna and instrument tubing, making it compatible with a wide range of clamps, mounts, and accessories. The mast end is capped with a plastic plug to prevent debris ingress and eliminate exposed edges.
The mounting plate is fabricated from 1/4-inch steel and includes slotted holes that accept U-bolts with center-to-center spacing from approximately 1.0 to 2.5 inches. This accommodates a wide range of pole and pipe diameters when paired with appropriately sized U-bolts selected by the user. Once clamped, the assembly provides a rigid right-angle mounting surface suitable for both permanent and semi-permanent installations.
The Instrument Mast Right-Angle Mounting Bracket is commonly used in combination with Leeman Geophysical Nanuk Case Mounting Brackets, the GeoCapture Time-Lapse Camera Case, or other customer-supplied instruments that require a horizontal orientation relative to a vertical mast.
