Hydraulic Single Acting Borros Anchor

When measuring subsidence or heave in soft soils, the Borros style anchor is the best way to anchor your deep reference point. These anchors deploy with hydraulic pressure provided through the measurement rod connecting them to the surface and work best in soft clays and soft soils.
As hydraulic pressure is applied with a hand pump at the surface, the steel tines extend and bend upward from the body of the anchor. This provides firm anchorage in materials that are otherwise difficult to anchor into and without the complication of grouting. The measurement rod and hydraulic tube is 1/4″ NPT galvanized pipe, available at any local plumbing supply house, drastically reducing shipping costs.
Each anchor is 1.25″ in diameter and 14.42″ long. Once deployed, the tines can reach a diameter of up to 14″.
